And then I've had my camper shell for awhile now and it is fastened in manner that I wish it wasn't. It is secured still but want it actually secured. How do y'all guys take yours attached?
The problem with mine is that at that place is about a three inch lip (as shown past the reddish line) or 2.v inches of just the flat piece (blue line) and then the clamps I bought on ebay exercise not go effectually them. For the dorsum ones I drilled through the lip but it still shy of the lesser clamp and had completely stripped the metal to get the screws in.
The front I was frustrated and only attached the bottom pieces through the lip.
There has to exist a better way.

Also it is a Brahama brand.
    Would these work? http://www.amazon.com/API-KH1P4-LDTT150P-Mounting-Clamps-Topper/dp/B002S4MJR8

  2. I have very similar looking aluminum clamps and I have no issue?? They work great
  3. My erstwhile camper shell on my '94 toyota had 4 regular bolts on each corner. The holes were drilled and bolts installed by previous possessor. And I never took it off so no problems.

Really? My ledge is the longest one I've seen. So the lesser clench doesn't reach all the mode around the bottom of the ledge. Also the lip on the ledge as shown in the first picture is correct where I would drill a hole then it makes it impossible to get a straight fit with theseI would practise that if my camper was permanent, but I do take it off when I load my motorbike, and also don't actually desire to drill through my truck rails haha

Information technology doesn't seem like the ones I was looking at would work. I tin can't find whatsoever that wrap effectually the whole iii inches! Maybe just cutting out some notches in the lip/ledge matter?

I just put on a soft top and simply drilled holes through the tiptop of the bed rail and bolted information technology.
  10. I am not sure in your cervix of the forest, but in California if you have a camper shell which " I never took it off" like you said, yous tin take the truck listed equally a camper and relieve $eighty.00 a year in registration fees.

I marked 6 spots for commodities holes on my camper and drilled them for five/8 bolts. So I lined information technology up on the bed and sharpied the holes, center punched them, and staged upward drill bits until I got to 5/8". Realigned the camper and installed my bolts with washers and nyloc lock nuts. The shell wasn't 100% square and then I used ane of those bed bars for agree gear in place to jack it straight the last 1/iv" or so. Information technology's solid now.

I have a Brahma canopy very like to yours and quite maybe the same thing. The deviation is that I don't have the slippery drop in bed liner to deal with.

That being said, Home depot has a modest four" deep pharynx Irwin c-clench That will grab that narrow outboard aluminum rail inside the canopy where your cherry line touches(2nd picture show). The lesser of the c clamp tin can then reach up inside the rolled lip of the bed and make solid contact. The pollex screw on the clamp faces downwards, not up, and then as non to snag whatever load and to be able to really creepo those clamp screws downwardly. 3 years? now I think and non a millimeter of movement out of the canopy. I exercise have single viscid sided canopy record practical to the bed. I only used 4 clamps.

Searched the world over for alum clamps that I liked and would do the play tricks. Bought some,,and took them back. Home Depot for the win.

You lot could probably cut slots in your bedliner, to be able to have the room for the c-clench to achieve in far enough to catch inside that rolled bed lip.

I wanted to continue my bed liner with the shell and then I cut nigh a 3''x2'' hole for the clench to become through.clamp-1_475e8d3759309f87fe31a51d451f7ea6ee93f932.jpg

Looks great also! Dear your truck. I may end upwards drilling into the bed only don't desire to because it was merely a $xl camper to me and not a really nice one!Awesome!! :woot: I will definitely check that out since yous have the same matter basically. Happen to accept a motion-picture show? I'm glad it'due south not only me with this super wide lip. It does make a great 'desk' for phones and wallets when camping though  I never have seen those before this thread. I may go to those if the showtime suggestion doesn't work. Are they stronger than they look?Yeah I take some holes in my bed liner that I notched out. Can't actually tell past the pictures though, I fabricated mine a scrap too big also :(

I personally don't trust a set of aluminum clamps.

And since I am a inexpensive ass,,the other quick clench you lot see grabs the piston rod on the elevator strut once opened,,so the canopy door doesn't fall down on my caput.. They stay extended when warm outside. Poor dirty beat out down truck,,but information technology's my favorite junk.

The pocket-sized lip is much more sturdy than that wide lip since it is square tube, and information technology allows yous to actually tighten down the clamps. The wide lip has to much flex and you starting time to pull the inner structure apart by using that one. Last Brahma I had on my "85" didn't last to long due to using that broad lip. It does make a squeamish bungie tray.

Irwin 225123 ii"x3.5" deep throat c-clamp ten 4,,or half-dozen of them, depending on how hard you bicycle. 4 allows for a flake of flex and give. I recall half-dozen of them would strain it unnecessarily but I have never tried that. Had it downward some existent hairball trails and diddled out logging roads and information technology has never moved. Seen a few more fitment problems on hither and I am fairly certain these would have fixed those. About $half dozen per locally. It looks to narrow,,but once you ophidian the spiral up nether the bed lip and then snag the square tube with the other leg, it tightens down to almost i" closed. Awning has to be foursquare to the bed, so you have even grab and clench gaps on both sides.

At that place ya go Josh,,cheers.

i had this same exact trouble. completely and easily fixable. first off, don't attach whatsoever kind of clamp to the "lip" closest to the side wall of the peak. that is a wire hunt and won't stand up to the pressure over time. a couple of good off road bumps and the chases can collapse/crunch so you're not secured anymore. i didn't want to drill into my truck then i went and establish ii long pieces of 1 1/ii" solid aluminum bars. i could have cut them upwards and then that they were only nether the clamps but i chose to take them run the entire length of the bed for two main reasons:
one) more back up / no chance of them sliding out from nether the clamps
    2) i travel / slumber in my truck sometimes and i wanted the bar to hang accessories off of.
and so, the bars sat downwards in the track and then i backed off of the screws on each part of the clamps until i found a setting that worked.
i'll try to dig up some pictures. if not, i'll take new ones when i get abode.
